TATTOO AFTERCARE

Every body is different - This aftercare works for most people but you must listen to your body and do what is best for your own healing.

RECOVERY DERMSHIELD

-Leave wrap on 3 days, if possible, but no longer than 1 week. We often reccomend removing once the itching begins.

-Remove covering under warm soapy water. Pull wrap down toward skin instead of away for a more comfortable experience.

-Gently wash away any blood or ink residue using fingertips with antibacterial soap.

-Let tattoo air dry

-Apply small amount of ointment or non scented lotion as needed.

TRADITIONAL WRAP

-Keep your tattoo clean!

-Remove covering

-Using sanitary warm water and antibacterial soap, gently use your fingertips, to wash away remaining ink, plasma or blood

-Let air dry then apply just enough ointment to cover tattoo. Gently massage into skin. (Hustle butter, Aquaphor, or A&D are all acceptable ointment options)

-VERY LITTLE OINTMENT IS NEEDED. When in doubt, let it dry out. If your tattoo feels wet an hour after application it Is a good indication you are using too much

-Repeat 1-3 times a day for 1-3 days

-Discontinue ointment and apply lotion every other day or as needed until fully healed

-No suntanning or soaking for 2 weeks. (Swimming, hot tubs, etc)

DONT's

-Over moisturize your tattoo.

-Soak your fresh tattoo. Avoid hot tubs, swimming, prolong soaks while bathing

-Expose your tattoo to direct sunlight while healing. (Sunburns can be extremely harmful to a fresh tattoo)

DO's
